The Simpsons: Road Rage Review
Ahhhh The Simpsons. They have yet another game, now on GCN, that includes the whole gang. The game has similarities to Crazy Taxi, but Road Rage ties in the Simpsons characters and plot.
The visuals on the game are…..cartoony to say the least. I understand that they are coming from a cartoon itself, but I expected more of a 3-D feel. The cars are blocky, as are the houses and buildings. But they were coming from a cartoon, but that doesn’t entirely excuse some of the graphics.
Don’t you love the comments made by the whole cast? Well, that is what you hear during the game. When you pick your driver, pick someone up, and drop them off, you’ll hear a line from the show. The memorable things they say are great and funny, especially if you have a friend present.
The game is basically a carbon copy of Crazy Taxi, minus the graphics. The controls are completely the same. The concept is the same, stop near a pedestrian and pick them up and drop them off at their destination in exchange for money. After a cirtin amount of money has been collected, you can choose another driver or another area to drive in. With a challenge mode, 19 vehicles, 6 areas, and a 2 player mode thrown in, there is plenty to do, but it will seem monotonous after a while.
This game is a great game, especially if you like the series on tv. If you already own Crazy Taxi, don’t get it, this game is about the same. Its a great game to have with a bunch of friends around to laugh about the comments from the characters, too. All in all, the game didn’t surprise me, but it was a very enjoyable game.
